چکیده

We study the problem of scheduling packet transmissions with aim minimizing energy consumption and data transmission delay users in a wireless network which spatial reuse spectrum is employed. approach this using theory Whittle index for cost restless bandits, has been used to effectively solve problems variety applications. design two based policies — first by treating graph representing as clique second on interference constraints derived from original graph. evaluate performance these via extensive simulations, terms average packets dropped, show that they outperform well-known Slotted ALOHA, maximum-weight scheduling, quadratic Lyapunov drift, exponential drift algorithms, well an algorithm recently proposed Cella Cesa-Bianchi.

Opportunistic Scheduling as Restless Bandits

In this paper we consider energy efficient scheduling in a multiuser setting where each user has a finite sized queue and there is a cost associated with holding packets (jobs) in each queue (modeling the delay constraints). The packets of each user need to be sent over a common channel. The channel qualities seen by the users are time-varying and differ across users; also, the cost incurred, i...

Wireless Channel Selection with Restless Bandits

Wireless devices are often able to communicate on several alternative channels; for example, cellular phones may use several frequency bands and are equipped with base-station communication capability together with WiFi and Bluetooth communication. Automatic decision support systems in such devices need to decide which channels to use at any given time so as to maximize the long-run average thr...

Collaborative Spatial Reuse in Wireless Networks via Selfish Multi-Armed Bandits

Next-generation wireless deployments are characterized by being dense and uncoordinated, which often leads to inefficient use of resources and poor performance. To solve this, we envision the utilization of completely decentralized mechanisms that enhance Spatial Reuse (SR). In particular, we concentrate in Reinforcement Learning (RL), and more specifically, in Multi-Armed Bandits (MABs), to al...
